are back to winning ways in the Premier League after coming from behind to beat the previously unbeaten 4-2. Alexis Sánchez grabbed the spotlight with a superb hat trick, but as a team were very good, producing perhaps their first convincing performance of the season.

 

The match started at an unbelievable frenetic pace. had a shot cleared off the line, then gave the ball away twice presenting chances to Jeffrey Schlupp and Jamie Vardy, who hit the post. Then, a long ball down ’s right hand side saw Vardy beat Mertesacker,and when Koscielny didn’t come across to close Vardy down, the Leicester man curled the ball into the far corner.

 

Vardy then hit the crossbar with a header, but from that, Arsenal countered, with Özil finding Alexis, who found Cazorla, who played in who stroked his shot past to make it 1-1. Three minutes after Walcott equalised, was replaced by , whose presence enabled Arsenal to take control of a match for the first time since last season’s FA Cup final.

 

Arsenal went 2-1 up in the 33rd minute. A delicious Mesut Özil backheel flick played in Hector Bellerín, and his cutback was tucked away at the far post by Alexis Sánchez, for his first goal of the season. Alexis got his second in the 57th minute; Özil chipped the Leicester defence, and Alexis leaped to head past Schmeichel. Arsenal now started playing excellent , but couldn’t find a fourth goal until 10 minutes from time; from a throw, Alexis beat his man that smashed the ball into the corner for the goal from 25 yards to complete his hattrick.

Arsenal’s back four decided to stop playing at this point, turning the match into Petr Cech v Leicester. Cech made some great saves, but was unable to prevent Vardy from scoring his second in the 89th minute.

 

Olivier Giroud added more gloss to the scoreline, putting away Monreal’s cutback to make it 5-2, with Arsenal doubling their goal tally for the season, and climbing to 4th in the league, just 3 points off of league leaders Manchester United, who face Arsenal at the Emirates next week.
