Ogunwusi Is New Ooni Of Ife

New_Ooni_of_Ife_Adeyeye_Enitan_OgunwusiThe ancient town of Ife in Osun State has gotten a new Ooni and he is Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (40).

Ogunwusi ascends the throne of Ooni of Ife following the pa$$ing away of Oba Okunade Sijuwade in July.

 

The new Ooni’s appointment was announced by the early hours of Monday.

A statement signed by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), , reads: “The Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the appointment of Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi of as the new Ooni of Ife.

“This choice follows the completion of the due process by the kingmakers and the communication of their decision to government”.

To become Ooni, Mr. Ogunwusi defeated 20 other contenders, including his 48-year old real estate- magnate brother, Adetunji, the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings (comprising of and PWV Management Services).

Ogunwusi of the compound of Agbedegbede in the , attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy.

He went into business and became a property merchant.

His profile on the website of Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited (a subsidiary of GTBank) reads: “Mr. Ogunwusi is a graduate of Accountancy and a certified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and of the Institute of Management.

“He has been involved in engineering, procurement and construction () contracts locally and abroad for over 11 years.

“He was involved in the development of the Northern Foreshore Estate, Cityscape International Limited’s project in Lekki, ’s projects, ’s projects, and the ’s and ’s resuscitation projects”.
