The Nigeria Army would provide potable water and a medical centre to Dansadau community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, said.
The Army chief made this known when he paid homage to the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello on Monday as part of his official visit to the state and to celebrate the 2016 Nigeria Army Day.
Buratai said that the provision of the two facilities was to further boost the good relationship existing between the army and the local community members “so that they would continue to feel that we are part of them and only here to give them good security cover.
“The Army selected Dansadau community for this year’s Army Day celebration to show their might against the criminals who were largely hiding in the bushes and attacking innocent persons and communities on daily basis.”

The chief of army staff added that the week-long celebration was expected to commence on Wednesday, July 13 in Dansadau, where heavy armour and military personnel had already been dispatched.
Responding, the emir commended the Federal Government for bringing more military support to the state and encouraged the soldiers to comb every criminal hideouts so that peace and full farming activities could return to the state.
Dansadau was the most hit in the state by activities of cattle rustlers, gunmen attack, kidnapping and destruction of farmlands and other property.
