Policemen Storm Man’s House, Arrest Him And His Wife Over Alleged Cultism (Photos)
A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) allegedly led a team of his men to the residence of their supposed suspects, Mr. and Mrs Kehinde Adeyemi in the dead of the night.
It was gathered that the operatives, apparently doing their civilian master’s bidding, besieged the Adeyemis’ abode and forced their way in by cutting the iron barricade on a window.
They allegedly pounced on their ‘suspect’, beat him to a state of coma and thereafter, whisked him away, together with his wife, Gloria, to their station. Over what? Alleged cultism, an allegation that turned out to be fallacious, but only acting their ‘master’s’ script!
It is claimed that Kehinde was targeted for openly not being in support of one Istijabah-led group of tricycle union that has virtually taken over Meiran, Ajasa Command, Abule-Egba and Mosalasi, all in Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos, a development Istijabah considered as an affront and sought to deal with him.
Unfortunately, while looking for how to get Kehinde, he consulted presumed law enforcement officers (Police).
Asked why the unruly act, the DPO tagged Kehinde as a cultist. The questions that readily come to mind and seriously begging for answers are: Is the wife also a cultist? Do the police require cutting the iron barricade on the window (burglar proof) before arresting their suspect, who did not resist arrest? Is there any portion of the Criminal Code that empowers police to inflict injuries on their armless suspect?
Meanwhile, to seek justice, Kehinde’s family has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Police Command, pleading for the transfer of the case to Zone 2, for diligent investigation, alleging that Meiran Police had been bought over.
