“If It’s Not Working, Leave” – Toyin Abraham Speaks On Maryam’s Death Sentence

In reaction to the decision of the FCT High Court Abuja, which sentenced Sanda to death by hanging for killing her husband in November 2019, expressed her grief for and advised married women to leave their marriages if it’s not working, rather than die in silence or end up in bad situations.

Abraham disclosed this on her Instagram handle on Monday, January 27, 2020, shortly after the Judge pronounced his verdict on Sanda.

Justice Yusuf Halilu of an FCT High Court on Monday sentenced Sanda to death by hanging for killing her husband.

The court convicted Sanda for the killing of Bilyaminu Bello, the son of former PDP National Chairman, Haliru Bello, in Abuja on November 19, 2017.

The judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt that the convict stabbed her husband and tried to conceal her action by claiming he fell on a broken bottle.
