NFF, Gernot Rohr Yet To Agree Terms On Super Eagles Job

Contrary to the news making the rounds that Coach has sealed a new deal to continue in his position as Super Eagles handler, there are indications that nothing has been concluded yet.

Newsmen have learnt that Rohr’s employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is still studying the documents submitted by the coach and will make its decision known to the gaffer in due course.

This much has also been confirmed by a close ally of Rohr who should know what transpired between him and the NFF.

“He has sent his comments back. NFF hasn’t responded yet. Nothing has been agreed yet”, said our source during the discussion.

Reminded that the media has been awash that Rohr has been reappointed the Super Eagles coach, our source dismissed such talks with a wave of the hand.

He said, “Well I’m not aware of anything signed and I talk to him 4 to 5 times a day. In fact, I just finished on a call to him. So I know what news is real and which is fake”.

The Franco-German tactician recently revealed that he has accepted most of the terms given to him by the Federation in order to retain his job.

He also disclosed that he has accepted a pay cut if only to show his intention to continue in his position as Super Eagles boss.

Rohr took charge of the Super Eagles in August 2016 after the NFF parted company with erstwhile coach Sunday Oliseh and he has since led Nigeria to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia even with one game at hand.

The ex-Gabon, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso Head Coach also qualified Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt and won Bronze medal with Nigeria.

The experienced football tactician has since he took over played a total of 49 matches with the Super Eagles winning 29, drawn 11 and lost 9 times.
