Mesut Ozil volunteers to pay Gunnersaurus wage to keep his job at Arsenal
The Gunnersaurus loyal fans have set up a fundraising page for him, who has been putting on a dinosaur suit to play Arsenal mascot for the last 27 years. Due to the impact of the coronavirus across the globe, arsenal has decided to shed some weight financially, therefore they let go of their loyal staff till fans are back to the stadium.
However, Mesut Ozil has tweeted he would be willing to sponsor the mascot’s salary for as long as he is an Arsenal player.
I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous & loyal mascot @Gunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years. As such, I’m offering to reimburse @Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player… pic.twitter.com/IfWN38x62z
